Considering Eisenhower for your family?
Open enrollment looks very different and difficult for many families in BVSD this year.
While we're officially welcoming members of the Douglass community to our neighborhood zone, we know many families are now considering their elementary options.
We're here to provide a parent-to-parent perspective to help you decide whether Eisenhower is the right school for your family.
Please reach out to web.eisenhower@gmail.com with any questions, or to be connected with a member of our PTA to learn more.

Growing up in Boulder, I wanted to give my child the same experience I had of knowing the kids down the street, walking to and from school with them (or bussing!), meeting up at the local park, and generally goofing off after (and sometimes during) school. With that in mind, my family chose Eisenhower because it is our neighborhood school. Once we got to Eisenhower I discovered how special it really is. The heart of Eisenhower is its staff. Almost all of the teachers have been at Eisenhower for 10-20 years. They are deeply invested in the school and the students and that caring impacts how the students and families involve themselves with the school. Eisenhower isn’t just a building my kid spends a huge amount of time at. It is a community of her peers, and families that are deeply invested in their children and where they spend their time.
Many of the kids in your child’s elementary class will be around them for the next 12 years. And you will be around their families. Making a strong foundation now is so important. We found our community with Eisenhower. Surrounding my child with caring parents, staff, and in the heart of a neighborhood that truly gives me the same feel I had at my school (in the EIGHTIES *gasp*).
The community at Eisenhower has each other’s back and I feel so lucky to have stumbled into this wonderful place. Maybe Eisenhower is the right fit for your family, maybe not, but I encourage anyone that has made it through this entire ramble to tour all schools that are on your short list. Go into buildings, hear what their core values are, reach out to families.
I think that every school in Boulder is great. That they all teach basically the same things and follow the same rubric. Finding the school that fits your family and makes your child feel seen, that’s the most important thing. Find your fit.
If you want to learn more about Eisenhower, please consider attending the Open Enrollment tours, going to the BVSD is the Place to Be Showcase, or emailing me directly: web.eisenhower@gmail.com
